ArcheoHotspots is a new initiative from the Allard Pierson Museum in collaboration with the AWN (Volunteers in archaeology) and Erfgoed Brabant (Heritage Brabant). It was founded in 2014 and the first ArcheoHotspot Amsterdam opened in December 2014 in the Allard Pierson Museum, Amsterdam.

This new project makes archaeology accessible for everyone. Everyone can just walk in an ‘ArchaeoLab’ and get information about an object that you’ve found in your garden. You can also help with archaeological research and ask questions to the volunteers or the archaeologists. This all can be done in a ArchaeoHotspot, a place where you can walk in within regular business hours without an appointment and always for free! Experience the archaeology for yourself and stop by! You can find the addresses for the open ArchaeoHotspots on the website (in Dutch)
